Electronics Test Engineer
Carrying out specific duties relating to the testing and fault finding of High Voltage Power Supplies, RF testing of Travelling Tube Amplifiers (TWTAs), MPMs, PAMs and supporting the Test Supervisor in the day to day activity in the designated Test areas.
Testing High Voltage Switch Mode Power supplies having output voltages of up to 35kV.
Supporting the Test Supervisor in planning and supervising workloads, achievement of schedule activity against production test plans, identification of bottlenecks, resource and quality issues in conjunction with:
Fault Finding High Voltage Power Supplies down to component level
Testing to both commercial and military specifications as required.
Carrying out of RF testing on S, C, X, Ku and millimetric band TWTs.
Carrying out tests on TWTAs of using Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analysers, RF Power Meters, RF Signal Generators, Pulse Generators etc.
Carrying out Environmental Stress Screening tests, including vibration, altitude and operational temperature cycling.
Working as part of a team and liaising with other departments when required.
Maintaining adequate work records.
Ensuring that all manufacturing related activities conform to Health and Safety requirements.
Ensuring that working areas, plant, tools and test equipment are kept tidy, safe, maintained and calibrated.
Fulfilling any other reasonable task when requested by your manager or team leader.
Ensuring that activities are carried out in accordance with documented processes, specifications and quality requirements.
Training new staff when required.
LEVEL OF QUALIFICATION.
Ideally possess a degree in RF/Electrical/Electronics/Physics but a minimum of a City & Guilds in one of these fields.
GCSE or equivalent in English Language.
EXPERIENCE / OTHER QUALITIES.
Ability to supervise staff and work as a team.
Experience with RF and High Voltage testing.
Good knowledge of Word, Excel and email applications.
