Design & Verification Engineer

Could also be called:

+ Product Engineer

+ Embedded SW Engineer

+ Electronics Test

+ Looking from Junior (grad+ 2 years) up to Senior Engineer.

+ Paignton based

+ Working in a Lab, Test & verification

+ Must have an appreciation of SW - ideally C# or C or C++

+ Must have 2 of: Electronics, Software, OptoElectronics

+ £38-45,000 per annum

+ Excellent benefits including

Knowledgeable engineer, preferably with experience of optical and electronic design. The photonic components team develops transmitters, receivers and modules for optical communication systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Required to perform engineering activities within the photonic components R&D team.

+ Will join a product R&D team and contribute to the development of new components and modules for next generation optical transmission systems.

+ The role will involve input to the design and build of the products, verification of prototype performance against customer specifications and liaising with NPI and manufacturing teams to introduce the product to manufacture.

+ Development of R&D test platforms and measurement automation will also be a requirement.

+ Working closely with other members of the design team, including optical and electronic engineers, test and process development engineers and the product qualification team to deliver cost effective product solutions in a timely manner.

+ Optical and electronic engineers

+ Test and process development engineers

QUALIFICATIONS:

Honours degree or equivalent in physics, optics, electronics or equivalent technical discipline

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

+ Optical Communication systems, components and design

+ Practical measurement techniques, data correlation and results analysis

+ Familiarity with the use of software to automate laboratory measurements

+ Analogue and digital design techniques would be an advantage

EXPERIENCE:

+ 2-7 years relevant industrial experience
