An Engineering Manager with strong leadership skills and experience working closely with commercial teams on tendering and RFQ activities is required to join a global high technology manufacturing business.

Role: Engineering Manager

As Engineering Manager you will be responsible for:

+ Responsible for accurate RFQ and quote development information (resource, time, cost and risk) to ensure that booked business is taken on the correct terms and can be technically delivered in line with commitments
+ Ensure resource and capacity planning and forecasting meets demand requirements
+ Develop a capability improvement plan to improve departmental efficiency across key areas
+ Line management responsibilities - PDR, training plans, capability development
+ Running product improvement activities to enhance products during their life cycle, which may include developing derivatives for emerging market sectors
+ Delivery of Customer Engineering projects to the agreed timescales and budget, at the right quality, meeting all safety and compliance requirements
+ Occasional travel to customers, conferences, and other company offices and customer sites.


As Engineering Manager You will have experience of:

+ Degree qualified or equivalent in Physics / Engineering discipline

+ Significant experience engineering product development demonstrating a knowledge of product lifecycles and business process lifecycles related to customer engineering
+ Project planning expertise and ability to commit and deliver to a detailed plan, including task management tracking
+ Proven capability and knowledge in the application of legal and commercial compliance frameworks for systemised products; CE, UL, CCC

+ Experience in budget and cost estimation planning for an engineering department, or development activity
+ Ability to author or review customer and product proposals to ensure they are specific, deliverable and risks are understood, characterised and mitigated
