Equipment Engineering Manager - Semiconductor Industry

SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION:

+ Responsible for developing and executing the strategy for the Equipment Engineering team to support the growing needs of the manufacturing organisation.

+ Responsible for leading the equipment team and developing the organisation to support the new 24 x 7 multi-shift operation.

+ Responsible for continuous improvement of equipment performance with particular emphasis on key production bottlenecks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Planning and execution of PM schedule required to support equipment performance needs.

Development and implementation of comprehensive crosstraining plan to ensure no 'single route' equipment responsibility exists.

Responsibility for driving OEE improvement on key bottleneck tools by developing, measuring and tracking performance.

Responsibility for managing equipment engineering budget to deliver optimised performance and cost.

JOB CHALLENGES:

Managing a multishift team of Equipment engineers and technicians

Daily response to production needs and achieving the right balance between sustaining and improvement activities

Demonstrated teamwork with the rest of the Caswell management team and in particular excellence in support to the Caswell manufacturing manager.

Continually raising the bar of performance to support the continuous improvement needs of the Caswell site and Lumentum's business.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

Experienced equipment engineering background with strong emphasis on process and team development ideally gained in a high volume, fast response environment.

Clearly demonstrated analytical and data driven approach to problem solving with knowledge of industry standard techniques such as OEE improvement and TPM.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 5 years experience ideally gained within a semiconductor fab environment.
