£32,000 - £35,000 + benefits

Territory - Central South including coastal Sussex (occasional travel to London)

A global leading manufacturer of medical technology for aesthetic, surgical and eye care applications are seeking an experienced field service engineer with an electronics/electrical bias to cover Central Southern England and ideally live in the Reading, Basingstoke, Guildford or surrounding areas.

As the field service engineer you will be responsible for carrying out installation, service, repair and maintenance on complex medical lasers and other related equipment.

Duties also include:

  • Providing technical support to customers and respond to any queries in a timely manner

  • Attend product training courses (both in the UK and overseas)

  • Identify any opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of team processes.

  • Support distributor service team on case escalation and providing technical phone and onsite support in Europe.

  • Maintain good communications and team working with all Managers and sales colleagues.

  • Escalate as appropriate situations where customer satisfaction is compromised, or contractual obligations are unlikely to be met.

  • Understand and comply with company work instructions, quality policy and codes of conduct policies and regulatory requirements

  • Ensure material parts are processed in accordance with policy.

  • Complete personal administration in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Maintain all test equipment, tools, and company property in good and working order

Experience:

  • Worked in an electronically/electrically biased medical environment (Laser, RF, pulse light experience is ideal, not essential). Military/RAF/REME/Royal Navy engineers - electronically/electrically biased.

  • Strong IT skills - able to use Microsoft office, excel etc.

  • Networking experience is a bonus but not essential.

  • HND/HNC or equivalent in Electrical/Electronics Engineering ideal but not essential if you have extensive experience

  • £32,000 - £35,000 basic starting salary

  • Hours are Mon-Friday (occasional weekend working if required or if away for however this is minimal).

  • 45hr week including travel (typically 8am - 5pm). As with any field based roles, days can be longer and shorter - flexible attitude needed to hours and travel.

  • No on call requirement.
