A high end global leader are looking for a skilled Hardware Design Engineer to join their Engineering department and be a vital member to their systems engineering team. The role is mainly involved in Hardware integration and electrical design.

My client specialise in the design and manufacture of advanced navigation technology that is specifically used in the maritime industry, with their global presence this organisation continue to be industry leaders.

The role - Hardware Design Engineer- Surrey

  • You will be required to support the design and development of their new complex integrated platform control systems for their products, some responsibilities include:
  • Understanding the customer requirements
  • Develop and design hardware solutions for their electronic control systems
  • Incorporate off the shelf electrical and electronic equipment
  • Provide technical support to subcontractors
  • Provide documentation in line with the company and customer's process and procedures
  • Some travel overseas and the UK
  • Carry out some managerial work

Qualifications/skills - Hardware Design Engineer - Surrey

  • A degree, HNC , HND in Electrical/Electronic engineer or similar
  • Worked on design and integration of the complex electronic and electrical equipment and systems
  • Systems and hardware testing
  • Be compliant to customer specification and international standards
  • Analysis of COTS components and subassemblies
  • Good understanding of Electronic interfaces, data bus communication protocols and networking standards
  • Knowledge Environmental & EMC standards; e.g. Def Stan 00-35, Def Stan 59-411, MIL-STD-461 or similar
  • Experience in MTBF calculations, FMECAs, reliability block diagrams
  • Worked on Digital control systems implemented using COTS and/or embedded hardware
  • Excellent at technical writing and have an analytical approach with good maths knowledge
