A world leading Aerospace and Defence organisation requires an engineer capable of designing and assembling racks and custom cable looms of commercial equipment and assisting in the completion of fully custom electronics equipment developed in-house.
In this broad electronic engineering role, you will work across a range of projects from design to manufacture and in-service repair and support of legacy systems. The role would suit someone with a hands-on nature willing to spend time not only designing simple electromechanical systems but also partially constructing prototypes or very low volume production systems and investigating faulty units and carrying out repairs.
Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required -
+ Able to create electromechanical technical drawings and reports to document own work.
+ Ability to generate schematics of wiring, interfaces and simple PCBs
+ Good fault finding skills, able to repair equipment by replacement of faulty internal units and modules and ideally down to identifying individual faulty components.
+ Some experience of analogue, mixed signal and digital electronics
+ Writing of production test schedules to confirm the correct assembly and operation of the equipment you and others have designed.
+ Willingness to work with outside manufacturers of e.g. cables and electrical enclosures, where it makes sense to reduce the amount of assembly work performed locally.
