Human Factors Engineer
£40,000 - £45,000
A global leading aerospace company is looking to recruit a Human Factors Engineer to support the Human Factors Integration and Survival Systems work of the Human Engineering Department. This will include test and evaluation activities.
Key accountabilities - Human Factors Engineer
+ Reading, understanding and translating customer's specifications / requirements into test plans.
+ Performing test and evaluation trials using human subjects.
+ Assist with marketing/sales and design activities.
+ Produce sketches / drawings to enable proof of concept parts to be manufactured from them.
+ Check reports by supporting personnel for correctness and specification compliance.
+ Produce detailed component specifications for internal use.
+ Produce man-hour estimates for their department's input for new programmes.
+ Produce programme plans of design effort on new projects.
+ Interface directly with all departments during the design and development process.
+ Solve problems arising from tests and / or in-service use.
Skills and knowledge required - Human Factors Engineer
+ Relevant degree in physiology, applied sciences or engineering or relevant equivalent experience
+ Must have a good appreciation of military aircrew equipment, backed up by practical experience.
+ Must have good appreciation of engineering science.
+ Should have a good understanding of modern manufacturing methods, ideally with fabrics and textiles.
+ Must work well within a multi-disciplined team practicing concurrent engineering.
