Hyper-V Consultant - MSServer Upgrades

Microsoft Server upgrades - SCVMM 2012/16 - Windows server 2012/16 - SQL 2012/16 Standard - Hyper-V on Windows Server 2012/16

Public sector Customer - Working Managing off-shore delivery team (APEX India) - Working with HPE AMS (they currently run the infrastructure for the Customer) - Ability to handle difficult customers

The role:

+ Assist PM in planning meetings

+ Assist PM in producing the initial Project Management Plan including

+ Understand the current guest loading for each Hyper-V Node in each cluster

+ Define and propose the sequence the clusters will be upgraded

+ Define and propose the sequence that nodes will be evicted for upgrading

General on-site support to assist the off-shore migration team

Note: this will include some weekend and out-of-hours work

MS Windows Hyper-V Upgrade Project

The client currently operates a Windows Hyper-V Server 2012 R2 farm consisting of up to a maximum of 60 x physical Hyper-V hosts configured as up to 16 x clusters, each consisting of between 2 and 9 nodes. These clusters currently run a total of 750 Hyper-V virtual machines. KCL has requested that HPE provides services to upgrade the existing Hyper-V farm to Windows Hyper-V Server 2016, resulting in:-

* Upgraded Windows Hyper-V Server hosts running on SCVMM 2016;

* A virtual configuration upgrade for a maximum of 750 virtual machines. Project delivery will be provided by offshore resources in the main together with local onsite support (PM and TC)
