A world-renowned manufacturer in the Renewable Energy Sector are looking for a Production Engineer from a Chemical Engineering background. You will responsible for the process engineering activities in their Manufacturing department.

Key Responsibilities - Production Engineer - West Sussex

  • Identify opportunities for improvement in the production area

  • Analyse the process and end of line product performance and define a reaction plan

  • Implement equipment or processes to improve the performance in the production area

  • Define corrective action plan

  • Qualify and release new manufacturing equipment

  • Work in cross functional teams

  • Complete Validation requirements

Key Skill/Qualifications - Production Engineer - West Sussex

  • Degree/MSC or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry or similar

  • Experience in problem solving methodology applied to process engineering and chemical process

  • Ability to plan work and meet tight deadlines

  • Excellent IT Skills

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in manufacturing environments, with hands-on process engineering , manufacturing engineering , and sustaining experience , both in a process development group and in a mass production environment would be highly advantageous

  • Methodical approach to process development with depth in data analysis associated with SPC, DOE, pFMEA, fishbone analysis .

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to understand interaction of hardware and process as they affect the final product

  • Exposure to both thin film and thick film processing , including subsequent high temperature operations and knowledge of electrochemistry

  • Experience manufacturing inks and pastes , and related metrology and characterization

  • Development of new characterization methods of inks

  • Experience in ceramic ink formulations , aqueous and non-aqueous

  • Experience in tailoring material microstructure to desired cell performance

  • Experience in ink preparation techniques

  • Experience in ink application techniques (transfer , spraying , screen / pad printing , others).

  • Experience with pre-application characterization techniques : rheology , particle size analysis , others

  • Experience with post-application characterization techniques : SEM, electrochemical testing , others

  • Demonstrated experience in process engineering in high tech manufacturing, such as semiconductor, hard disk, or solar industries.
