The Role:
Responsible for the individual Service Designs within a specific IS Service Group, providing a single point of focus for the associated set of IS Services.
Responsible for:
+ Owning, leading and integrating all IS Service and component designs to ensure the quality and completeness of the Service Design Pack (SDP; covering products, people, process, partners, security, service levels etc) throughout the service lifecycle. Including appropriate standards (legal, regulatory, commercial) are adhered to ensure compliance is maintained.
+ Automation and simplification of the services to drive efficiency, quality, scalability, availability, capacity and security.
+ Ensuring that all service-related knowledge is digitised and readily accessible for use throughout the life of the service.
+ Gather intelligence on emerging technologies to detail impacts, threats and opportunities into the Service roadmaps.
+ Balancing design decisions between functional, service quality and service management requirements to ensure the efficiency of the solution for the Business.
+ Lifecycle planning of assets to the extent that acquisition, storage, distribution, movement, performance, continuity and disposal of assets is accurately reflected in the service roadmap.
+ Identifying and managing all design related risks ensuring mitigation plans are in place and/or accepted by the IS Service Owner.
Essential
+ Degree in a relevant Business or IT technical qualification or equivalent of knowledge acquired through experience, other qualifications and training/development.
+ Demonstrable experience of working in a solution architecture or service design capacity in one or more of the following; Infrastructure Technology - on premise and cloud, COTS applications, productivity & collaboration, corporate systems, Information management.
+ Ability to facilitate collaboration across boundaries to motivate and deliver common aims and targets.
+ Strong analytical and conceptual reasoning skills and highly effective communication skills. Ability to articulate complex issues and concepts to a wide range of recipients both written and verbally.
+ Demonstrated capability to resolve conflict; build, maintain and utilise relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to achieve optimum business goals.
Desirable
Good understanding of the operating environment and our strategic intent / objectives.
Experience of driving or influencing a centre of excellence.
Good understanding of ITIL methodologies and standards (ITILv3 and above, Foundation level) or equivalent framework.
Good understanding of TOGAF or equivalent architectural framework.
Makes sound commercial/strategic decisions that affect long-term delivery, taking account of risk effect.
Creates a credible vision for area/business and communicates it with clarity and purpose.
