Job description

The L2/L3 IT Support Engineer is to be capable of installing and maintaining computer hardware and software systems to ensure an operational output
Responsibilities include:-
Responding to technical support calls from end users of computers and software applications
Setting up and installing new computers, networks and software and follow work instructions to change components.
Installing updates and patches to software applications
Installing and configuring operating systems, anti-virus software and other applications
Diagnosing and fixing network problems and hardware or software faults
Maintaining inventories of hardware and software and requesting replacements from logistics chain
Managing backups of servers, in case of data loss
Keeping a record of issues and faults along with solutions, for future reference
Installation of IT Hardware across the UK
Maintain network connectivity and accurately record changes

Must haves

Good technical background ideally with military knowledge and decent fault finding skills
SC Clearance and willing to go for DV.
Experience using and administering Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy and DNS.
Use and understanding of Microsoft Server O/S (ideally 2012R2 and Windows 10)
Experience working/administrating virtualised environments (ideally VMware vCenter)
Good experience working with different computer hardware
Able to lift, shift and install heavy equipment
Willing to travel and work in sometimes benign environments
Willing to work outside normal working hours
