Manufacturing Engineer
Royston , Hertfordshire
12 - 18 Month Contracts available (with potential for extensions)
Up to circa £45 per hour ( Inside IR35 )

A market leading technology company operating in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical technology sector are seeking talented Manufacturing Engineers to help ensure manufactured products meet quality , delivery and cost targets
The ideal candidates will have experience in the manufacture of either special purpose machinery , automated process machinery or scientific instruments which involve complex assembly processes:
There are multiple opportunities available across the business with the following expertise being an advantage for one or other of the respective positions:
- Expertise in the documentation of processes and work instructions
- An understanding of Plastics / Injection Moulding porcesses
- Outsourcing/technology transfer
Example of responsibilities of Manufacturing Engineer :
+ Work with designers and engineers to give Design for Manufacture input during product development projects
+ Work with procurement specialists to develop a robust high quality supply chain
+ Develop and implement sound manufacturing methods covering all processes from supply chain through configuration, commissioning and packing
+ Improve efficiency of production using best practice methods
+ Solve manufacturing issues by providing guidance and prioritisation, performing root cause analysis and implementing solutions such as jigs and fixtures, process change or design change
+ Develop, maintain and improve manufacturing documentation
+ Capacity planning
+ Batch Release

+ Excellent manufacturing engineering and process development skills
+ Experience of the design of jigs and fixtures for manufacturing
+ Sound knowledge and experience of NPI processes
+ Experience of developing and maintaining manufacturing documentation
+ Sound knowledge of engineering principles and best practice
+ Sound understanding of Design for Manufacture ( DfM )
+ Strong focus on Quality
+ Able to provide Leadership

Additional desirable skills for Manufacturing Engineer:
+ Lean Manufacturing knowledge / experience
