Manufacturing Engineer - CNC Division

A world leader and renowned engineering company are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to work closely with the machine shop CNC divison to support continuous improvement in design for manufacture and manufacturing processes whilst optimising machine usage at all times (24/7).

Working within the Manufacturing divison you will be responsible for supporting a wide range of manufacturing processes in a small batch environment, operating to high standards of quality and customer care. This role enables you to work for a household name who continues to do valuable work and save lives whilst allowing you to join a company with a growing order book offering high levels of job security.

Key responsibilities;

+ Support manufacturing activities on old and new products such as continuous improvement in manufacturing techniques / application of new technologies and modern manufacturing philosophies

+ Support a strategy for Lean Design for Manufacture

+ Participate in the selection of new CNC machines / tooling requirements ensuring maintaining technical expertise to mitigate any future risk.

+ Support installations and commissioning of plant to ensure minimal business risk

Experience required;

+ Solid experience of modern manufacturing techniques ie Lean manufacturing.

+ Improving manufacturing processes on the shop floor / increase output

+ Experience in computer programming to at least 'subroutine' level gained ideally within a CNC programming / metal machining environment.

+ Thorough experience of CAD/CAM/ NC programming of multi axis turning and milling centres
