SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION:
He/She will be responsible for project management activities within a product development program. The role will be within the Transmission BU R&D department based in Northamptonshire, UK.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilitate the definition of program scope, goals and deliverables.
Develop an effective relationship with all internal and external stakeholders, especially customers and internal manufacturing teams (wafer fab).
Work closely with internal technical teams to define plan, tasks and ensure that customer requirements are being met.
Owning the outcomes of and managing the day to day delivery of activities. To drive execution.
Accountable for the identification and management of project risk and issues along with mitigation and/or workarounds. Escalating risks and issues, with mitigations to the team leader when outside of agreed plan.
Responsible for working with functional owners to manage resources, budget, capex, and development access to a production line.
Responsible for delivery of all key milestones/Gates, need to be able to present/summarize status of key products to higher level management.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Master's degree - or higher in physics, electronics or equivalent technical discipline
ESSENTIAL:
Experience developing "New Products" in an R&D environment
A methodical and organised team player with a flexible approach to work
Product Development process - Essential to have some experience of product lifecycles from concept through to production.
Experience of the full project life cycle of all milestones to work within budget and timescale.
Experience of project management and cost control.
Excellent communication skills in English to communicate in written, verbal and presentation
PREFERRED:
Prince 2, PMP certification and/or Six Sigma/Lean Certifications
EXPERIENCE:
10+ years' experience in Program/Project Management within product development within optoelectronics (preferred), semiconductor technology, automotive, volume manufacturing, R&D, Product Development, telecommunications.
