Mechanical Design Engineer
Are you an experienced Degree qualified Mechanical Design Engineer?
CBSbutler Ltd are working with a well-established company that are looking to appoint a Mechanical Design Engineer on a permanent basis. You will be working within a small team within the business improvement department and will be engaged in the entire lifecycle of the projects, from initial design, validation, trials the release into production whilst also ensuring sustainability. You will need to have a strong technical understanding and the ability to drive technical solutions until completion.
Qualifications and Experience:
BEng Mechanical Engineering
A high level of technical and scientific knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to practical problems
Excellent understanding of Mechanical Sciences
Knowledge and an understanding of CE marking and its processes
Effective knowledge and use of Solidworks CAD system and associated tools
Hands on experience and expertise in technical design
Competent in all Microsoft packages
Working knowledge of ISO9001 and IATF16949
Good understanding of PLCs and automation
Experience within the automotive industry is an advantage
Experience of creating pneumatic drawings is an advantage
Experience of LEAN manufacturing and SMED is an advantage
The role:
Work collectively and collaboratively with Lead Engineers and other Engineers on engineering system developments and best practice
Support other teams when required on engineering issues
Make suggestions for improvement via the Team Structure
Assist with the preparation of project scope and agree the appropriate technical design specifications in order to achieve the scope within agreed timescale and to budget
Meet delivery, performance and improvement targets for each project
Use research, analytical, conceptual, and planning skills, particularly those in mathematical modelling and computer-aided design.
Follow correct working practices such as drawing standards and control, following technical specification, HSE and CE requirements
Recommend modifications following prototype test results.
Work with Quality team, production and support functions on test requirements for new equipment (e.g., pre-production runs, MSA's etc)
