My client and I are looking for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Mechanical design team. My client is a supplier of video and image processing solutions to the Electro-Optic systems market. They specialise in display systems, video capture and processing and supply their product to land, sea and air sectors within the defence industry.

The Role - Mechanical Design Engineer

• Develop designs that meet the customers requirements (Tracking, thermal and packaging products)
• Lead a small team in mechanical department
• Lead the mechanical engineering team in engineering analysis
• Perform testing and verification for your designs
• Support new products design and failure investigations by supported documentation
• Communicate with the wider teams to integrate your designs

Skills/Experience - Mechanical Design Engineer

• Degree qualified or equivalent
• Experience in designing complex electronics or enclosures for electronic equipment
• Understanding of machining, casting, fabrication and moulding techniques
• Able to use 3D CAD package (Solidworks)
• Can lead design projects throughout the whole design lifecycle
• Have a good understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacture)
• Preferably to have worked in the Defence industry
