**Significant NX experience is required for this role**

This is a unique and challenging opportunity to design and manufacture high power electronic systems to operate reliably in the harshest environments. You would be responsible for the integrity of your design, defining a mechanical assembly to securely accommodate and protect electronic components within the specified environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Design and develop mechanical solutions to incorporate electronic products for rugged military environments.

  • Evaluate design requirements and develop mechanical designs

  • Liaise from concept through NPI process to required completion with electronics team, production engineering and operations to ensure design for manufacture and cost targets for product can be met

  • Support bid proposals for cost estimating and feasibility design reviews

  • Develop mechanical structures and assemblies with full consideration of component tolerances to ensure consistent cost-effective manufacture.

  • Analyse the effects of heat, vibration, shock and acceleration to ensure the design performs as specified under all conditions.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated experience of mechanical design within a complex environment

  • Understanding of thermal analysis and design

  • Design for Manufacture, Assembly and Test competency

  • Degree level relevant qualification in Mechanical engineering or equivalent via apprenticeship scheme
