Medical Engineer - No previous experience required
£21,089 - £24,214 (Band 4/5) + 5% fringe allowance
Surrey based
Monday - Friday - 37.5 hrs per week
An NHS trust considered outstanding in the Surrey area, are seeking an experienced engineer to carry out service, repair and maintenance on a range of medical equipment such as defibrillators, patient monitors, BP monitors, ECG's, diathermy, theatre trollies, infusion devices, syringe pumps etc.
This is a great opportunity for any engineer with an electronics/electrical bias and strong fault-finding and repair skills, to work within a highly sought after industry on complex medical devices!
Key accountabilities - Medical Engineer - Surrey
Carry out preventative maintenance, inspection, repair and calibration on various types of patient-critical equipment
Communicate effectively with clinical professionals to understand the problem and fault find effectively using test equipment provided
Work down to component level if required
Perform checks to manufacturing standards including electrical safety testing
Respond to emergency call outs
Provide feedback on equipment by liaising directly with the manufacturers
Organise planned preventative maintenance by liaising with clinical staff
Work in accordance with standards such as 'the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989' and 'The Health Safety Act'
Identify potential hazardous situations and faults when in clinical areas
Experience/skills required - Medical Engineer - Surrey
HND/HNC or equivalent in an Engineering discipline (Electronics/Electrical preferred)
Previous experience carrying out fault finding and repair on electronics/electrical equipment
Strong communication both written and verbal
Proficient IT skills
