Medical Engineer

3 months contract (possibiliy of extension)

£10.50-22/hr rate depending on experience and method of pay (PAYE vs Umbrella)

A brand new medical engineering contract is available within the EBME dept. of a large NHS Trust based in the North West of England.

The contract will initially be for 3 months but likely to extend and you will be required to assist in clearing an equipment backlog along with carrying out service, repair and maintenance on a wide range of medical equipment.

The rate will be depending on your level of biomedical engineering experience.

As an EBME Engineer, your duties will include:

  • Acceptance testing a range of medical equipment within the trust

  • Service and repair work on a range of low to high risk medical devices such as ECG's, patient monitors, infusion pumps, diathermy machines, BP monitors, defibrillators etc.

  • Checking documentation and carry out other administration tasks as required

  • Fault finding and repair work

  • Provide technical advice to clinical and non-clinical staff

Experience/skills required:

  • Experience of carrying out service and repair work on medical equipment such as infusion devices, diathermy, defibrillators, ECG's, patient monitors, syringe drivers, anaesthesia machines, ventilators etc.

  • ONC or equivalent in an Engineering discipline (electronics, electrical, mechanical, biomedical etc.)

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Willing to work during the current COVID-19 crisis
