A leading provider of medical engineering services in the UK is now seeking a Biomedical Engineer to join their Field Service Engineer team.

This organisation specialises in the supply of biomedical engineering services to a vast range of clients such as the NHS, Emergency and Rescue and the private healthcare sector. Job outline:

As a field-based EBME Engineer you will be required to carry out commissioning, de-commissioning, testing, planned preventative maintenance and fault finding and repair on a range of low to high risk medical equipment. This will include (but is not limited to) infusion devices, volumetric pumps, diathermies, theatre tables, patient monitors, ECG's, pulse oximeters and, with training, anaesthesia systems too! In-house and OEM training can be provided where required.

Other key accountabilities will include:

  • Ensure service reports are completed in accordance with Quality Processes

  • Liaise with the customer regarding scheduled corrective repairs.

  • Ensure customers receive the highest quality support for contracted services on site.

  • Provide on-site technical solutions in support of contracted services

  • Liaise with Service Desk to ensure service delivery meets the KPI's.

  • Maintain effective quality systems to comply with ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 13485

  • Providing customer service support to the Team Leader

Your customer base will range geographically from Essex to Hertfordshire to Buckinghamshire. It is essential you live in North London or one of these counties, within a commutable distance to the M25.

Experience/skills required:

  • Medical Engineering experience on all the following medical devices is essential: infusion devices, volumetric pumps, diathermies, theatre tables and patient monitors.

  • Commutable to Northern ring of the M25

  • You must own or have access to your own vehicle


  • £30-36,000pa (more could be offered potentially, depending on experience)

  • £6,000pa car allowance (paid £500pm)
