Network Operations Consultant
Based in Welwyn Garden City
A dynamic and innovative industry-leading consultancy in the Space sector are looking for an Operations Consultant Engineer to join their growing company. You will be responsible for delivering concept of network operations, process and procedure material required to support the efficient operation of a global satellite communications service provider.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has great experience in satellite/mobile communications and wants to progress their career with an industry leader in the Space sector.
Work closely with the Operations and Maintenance business areas of the client in order to identify best practice concepts of operations;
Development of organisation and process frameworks to support efficient delivery of services to the client's end customers;
Perform gap analysis and develop new and/or enhanced concepts of operation for innovative services;
Identifying enhancements to the Network and Service Management System to ensure efficient and effective operation of the client's network;
Maintaining and policing processes/procedures and implementing change management;
Development of plan and strategy documentation that defines the processes and procedures that different functions of the client business need to adhere to in order to deliver a quality service;
Skills and Experience:
Experience in the satellite or mobile communications arena, preferably gained in Network Control Centre or Satellite Ground Station/Mobile Base Station operations and maintenance engineering, SLA specification and design of Quality of Service measurement systems;
Experience of commercial satellite and/or military communications systems;
Understanding of communications operations frameworks and standards (e.g. TM Forum, ITIL etc.);
Systems Analysis skills and application within a communications domain;
Familiarity with tools used within satellite ground stations for operations and maintenance (e.g. HP Network Management, KRATOS, Stablenet/Tivoli N/W Management toolset, SAP, etc.);
Experience of satellite ground station operations and maintenance practices;
Multi-media computer-based training (CBT) e/learning/distance learning design and delivery systems;
Experience of quality management systems and frameworks (e.g. ISO9001, ITIL);
Experience of working with/on ESA projects or programmes;
Ability to gain UK Security Clearance.
This role will require flexibility to travel during the working week to client sites, predominantly across the south of the UK.
