- 4 month initial contract

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate customer needs based on applications requirements

  • Deliver engineering specifications, assist with functional specifications, and collaborate on technical designs and specifications for projects and initiatives

  • Estimate effort, both development and product delivery timelines, to determine a course of action for project

  • Provide technical input for specific Network Tooling needs or objectives in order to meet business requirements

  • Work closely with external vendors and other personnel in order to optimize and facilitate the best solution to meet the needs of the business

  • Provide technical services for customers in a highly complex Network Tooling environment. Demonstrate ability to assess technical impact to the project/new technology along with technical risks.

  • Resolve complex problems with little or no guidance. Independently research and promote specialized technical solutions.

  • Analyse complex hardware and software issues associated with Network Tooling related technologies specifically the applications detailed above

  • Analyse, design, test, document, and implement solutions for Networking Tooling functionality

  • Define and specify architecture protocols and functional requirements and specifications for Networking Tooling components.

  • Strong background in application solutions relating to the above technologies. Must be able to design and implement new solutions and manage change in a large-scale, mission-critical environment. Must have wide-ranging experience and the ability to apply that experience along with professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in effective ways.

  • Ensure the environments remain compliant with vendor recommended patching standards.

  • Experience of delivering solutions within a high secure environment and utilisation of high secure environment policies

Requirements

These are zero outage platforms so the candidate will need to have to quickly gain a good understanding of the whole application suite and should be a subject matter expert in the following:

  • Application deployment within Linux

  • Network Node Manager (NNMI)

  • HP Network Automation (HPNA)

  • HP Operations Manager (HPOM)

In addition, experience of the following would be highly desirable:

  • TACACS+ / LDAP / SSH / SNMP / SYSLOG

  • Postgres, Oracle, SQL DB

  • Oracle DB

  • SQL

  • Basic programming languages and techniques in PHP, Perl or shell

  • Knowledge of networking technologies

  • ITSM systems as a user i.e. Micro Focus Service Manager, etc.

  • A recognised formal qualification in a computer related subject is preferred

Non-technical Qualifications

  • Excellent planning, interpersonal, problem solving, leadership skills are required.

  • Excellent English communication skills, including verbal, written and presentation are necessary. Active listening skills are required.

  • Excellent ability to proactively identify and resolve issues and opportunities.

  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and in environments dealing with ambiguity.
