Obsolescence Manager - Reading

Permanent - £50,000-£55,000 per annum
I am looking for an Obsolescence Manager to work with a new client of mine, they provide key service integration capabilities and engineering consultancy, specialising in the delivery of cost effective support solutions for Communications and Information Systems.
To develop and maintain the Obsolescence strategy and capability and attend internal and customer reviews as required.
Carry out OM engineering activities detailing input, processes and output together with cost / timescale constraints to ensure delivery of project objectives.
Work with teams across the project to make sure that best working practices are adopted.
Production and management of:
Obsolescence Notification Documents;
Managing and updating the Obsolescence Management Log (OML);
Attendance at (occasional hosting) the Obsolescence Management Board (OMB) to present and report progress to the Authority;
Be the single Point of Contact (POC) for Obsolescence Matters and issues.
Obsolescence Risk Management. Reports/risk assessments will include a RAG status to provide visibility of highest risk items with nearest term impacts to degradation of capability, safety, security or cost.
Essential Skills / Experience:
Knowledge of obsolescence modelling, prediction tools and techniques;
Knowledge of OM tools such as Advanced Component Obsolescence Management (AVCOM);
Familiarity with in-service support principles;
Able to undertake technical problem-solving activities in obsolescence management using their comprehensive expertise, knowledge and experience.
