An industry leading design and manufacturer of advanced naval radar and navigation systems are seeking a Principal Radar Engineer to be responsible for leading radar system analysis and modelling activities.

As a Principal Radar Engineer you will contribute to the planning and implementation of product development, making best use of current and emerging technology and concepts. You will provide coaching, leadership and guidance to others within and outside the team.

Key accountabilities - Principal Radar Engineer

+ Build simulation models of radar and sub-systems in MATLAB

+ Build radar signal processing algorithms

+ Co-ordinate field trials and data capture campaigns

+ Support derivation of requirements and specifications as well as their verification & validation

+ Aid Sales and Systems Engineering staff in the selection of appropriate products

+ Liaise with sub-system suppliers to ensure performance requirements are met

+ Plan, take ownership and manage the delivery of engineering work packages

+ Provide technical presentations, papers and reports to internal and external customers

Skills and knowledge required - Principal Radar Engineer

+ A Masters or bachelor's degree

+ Experience with MATLAB and digital signal processing

+ Working knowledge of Radar or closely related applications (Sonar, Image Processing, Comms)

+ Proven record of leading analysis and design on time and within budget
