Role: Process development Engineer
Location: Chandler's Ford , Hampshire
Salary: Up to £44,000pa + Bonus, Share Options scheme and comprehensive benefits

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Process Development Engineer to join a rapidly expanding technology business who are transitioning from an R&D phase to a Product focused, Manufacturing stage in their development. You will be working hands on to create and carry out projects to develop technology and obtain improved performance from processes and supporting the transfer of processes into the newly opened Manufacturing Facility.

Responsibilities :

  • Supporting the transfer and implementation of processes to the new manufacturing facility as project / business need arise

  • Supporting ongoing manufacturing at the new facility

  • Participating in R&D activities to develop new processes for future technology

  • Liaising with outsource partners and suppliers to specify and deliver new equipment and processes

  • Organise parts and paperwork for prototype builds

  • Developing and maintaining Process documentation and procedures to comply with appropriate quality standards

  • Documentation of optimised production workflows for various processes

  • Managing workload to ensure on time delivery of project / business requirements and achievement of business KPI's

  • Drive a continuous improvement culture

  • Adhere to good laboratory practice and implementation of risk assessments and COSHH where appropriate

Requirements :

  • Minimum qualification level HNC although a BSc or BEng/Meng would be desirable

  • Strong materials science and engineering knowledge and failure analysis capability related to assembly interactions and reliability failures

  • Experience working in industry in a production environment

  • Able to conduct independent research to understand the industry landscape on relevant process technologies

  • Able to follow and maintain qualified processes with good attention to detail

  • Six Sigma skills ( Fishbone , FMEA, etc. ) applicable to troubleshooting

  • Experience in presenting ideas, design concepts, data and plans with high confidence at team review meetings

  • Able to write well defined operating procedures in compliance with ISO 9001 / 14001

Desirable :

  • Practical knowledge in assembly steps including wafer thinning , wafer dicing , die attach multi-die stacking and wirebond would be desirable

  • Wafer probe & wafer testing experience would be an advantage
