Production Engineer

£55,000 plus benefits

Redhill, Surrey

A leading developer of clean energy technology is now hiring for a Production Engineer to join their Manufacturing Engineering team.

As a Production Engineer (also called Manufacturing Engineer or Process Engineer) you will be responsible for the CAD design, development and implementation of new manufacturing processes, solutions and technologies which are required to up scale production from low volume manufacturing to high volume manufacturing.

Key responsibilities of Manufacturing Engineer include;

  • Identify and implement process improvements

  • Design and build of jigs, fixtures and tooling for mechanical assembly and automated processes.

  • Work closely with high volume manufacturing partners

  • Develop factory Layout plans, including material flow plans and Value Stream Mapping

  • Specify and implement new equipment or processes

  • Keep up to date on technology and products

  • Help develop virtual factory and simulation capabilities

This role is based in Redhill, Surrey working Monday to Friday, 37.5hrs per week. There is also some scope to work from home.

What is required to apply?

  • CAD drawing experience with an understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)

  • Lean manufacturing experience

  • 4 years' experience in a Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer or Process Engineer role

  • A minimum of an apprenticeship or HNC

  • Design experience of mechanical, electrical or pneumatic fixtures or components
