An expanding UK scientific accessory manufacturing company is looking for a Production Engineer whose responsibility is to support production in ensuring that it runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis.
The role is diverse in that the person will be working closely with design engineers, quality and production teams to resolve technical problems and to improve manufacturing techniques.
Other responsibilities include:
+ Input into new designs to ensure ease of manufacture and assembly.
+ Work with different departments and suppliers in resolving quality issues and putting in place robust corrective solutions.
+ Assist with shop floor layout and cell designs.
+ Collate and analyse warranty information.
+ Design of fixtures and tooling for assembly tasks.
+ Generating production documentation such as assembly instructions.
+ Overseeing the introduction of new products into production.
+ Understanding of Lean tools such as Kanban's, 5S and value stream mapping. Also experience in activities such as value engineering.
+ Introducing new process and equipment to reduce cost and save time.
Skills and qualifications required:
+ Experience with electro-mechanical assemblies.
+ Able to demonstrate personal success in the achievement of continuous process improvement.
+ Knowledge of problem-solving techniques.
+ Understanding of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
+ To understand root cause analysis.
+ Ensuring that the company complies to all health and safety, and environmental legal requirements.
