Production Planner

Role: Production Planner
Location: Horsham
Salary: Up to £45,000

Working for a successful engineering / technology business the role is responsible for planning all prototype production activities at the clients research and development site. Working with Prototype Production , Program Management , Engineering , Commercial , Test and Energy Materials teams you will be responsible for:​

Key Accountabilities of Production Planner:

  • Maximise the delivery Performance and On-time Delivery Goals.

  • Take Ownership of , and plan all prototype parts through Manufacturing

  • Track and report on available capacity vs. forecasted load in production , quality and test

  • Produce weekly / monthly reports as required

  • Provide support with the introduction of new products to ensure planning requirements are completed on time

  • Support Manufacturing and Technical leadership team as necessary to ensure the prototype production team meets and/or exceed key goals.

  • Support departmental performance metrics KPI's and provides regular progress reports to Prototype Production Manager

  • Interacts between Sales , Engineering , Manufacturing , and Supply Chain functions

  • This role requires effective interaction with Team Leaders to ensure On-time Delivery

  • Ensures that all processes and procedures are adhered to

  • Liaise with internal customers on delivery dates , agree delivery dates prior to Order Input

  • Drive Continuous improvement​

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required for Production Planner :

  • Proficiency with MS products and MRP/ERP systems

  • Project , planning and resource management skills

  • Ability to communicate clearly at all levels of the organization

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Effective in making decisions under pressure

  • Focused on results with the ability to work to deadlines

  • Ability to adjust to multiple demands , shifting work priorities , ambiguity , adversity , and change

  • Good analytical and business judgment including demonstrated problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings , specifications , and knowledge of change control methods and processes
