Would you like to be responsible for the design, positioning, control and improvement of manufacturing processes for Radar products?

A global leading aerospace and defence organisation are looking to recruit a Production Process Engineer.

As a Production Process Engineer your key responsibilities will include:

+ Support the design, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing processes to ensure successful production, employing appropriate Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma techniques.

+ Provide "Design for Manufacture" support to the Engineering & New Product Introduction teams to ensure products are appropriately designed for manufacturing and test, representing manufacturing at design reviews.

+ Participate in continuous improvement, challenging current manufacturing process capability and performance, to identify opportunities to reduce cost, timescales and variability.

+ Manage own development towards attaining professional standards and registration within the relevant professional body.

Skills and qualifications required:

+ Understands the principles of manufacturing process design.

+ Understands the application of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma techniques, including TPM, SPC and process capability studies (Green Belt preferable).

+ Capable of supporting the development and rollout of new systems / processes within manufacturing process engineering.

+ Capable of effective contribution to "Kaizen" improvement events with the shop floor staff.

+ Proven relevant technical proficiency, either through qualification (HND/Degree), or equivalent experience and knowledge.

+ An understanding of engineering lifecycle processes
