Project Design Engineer

Our client is market leaders at the forefront of designing equipment and systems for marine and offshore sectors, due to demand they are recruiting for a Project Design Engineer to join their team help support Project Engineering and the transition of new products into production. Take lead of Design but also implement the product into Production using Project Management principles but still understanding good manufacturing practices.

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Capable of managing multiple tasks either in New Product Design or Bespoke Projects.
  • Comfortable and capable of leading teams and taking meeting minutes.
  • Ability to effectively delegate while maintaining forward motion on key deliverables.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts.
  • Proven team player skills with ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
  • Strong team player and ability to work on own initiative.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Change Control and all drawing office practices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership qualities and the ability to train staff.

Requirements:

  • Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree preferred, or ONC, A Levels, BTEC, Diploma Level 3 or equivalent NVQ level 3 qualification.
  • 5-10 years plus experience in Mechanical & Electrical Design.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively across all areas of the business.
  • PC literate.
  • Previous MRP experience and navigating through product structures.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise and react to assigned tasks in accordance with business needs.
  • Hands-on, process orientated and highly driven self-starter with good planning skills and versatility to adjust to changing priorities.
  • Solidworks knowledge.
