A market leading Aerospace Engineering / Manufacturing company are seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer with strong knowledge of Electro-Mechanical designs and broad knowledge of project management to lead complex projects.

You will communicate within and outside of the engineering function to gain cooperation on operational processes , practices , and procedures . Working with the Design team management team , make moderate to substantial improvements to systems and processes. Contributes to achievement of departmental goals and operating plans with direct impact on the departmental results

Responsibilities :

+ Responsible for the design , layout , testing and evaluation of mechanical and electro-mechanical devices or systems . Prepares design specifications , analysis and recommendations for presentation and approval.

+ Co-ordinate the design activities across sub-systems to ensure the system design meets the requirements/specification.

+ Analyse mechanical requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Investigate solutions to product or process problems

+ Consolidate results of mechanical design elements for assigned projects . Conduct investigations involving the origination or modification of material , component or process specifications or requirements

+ Perform product development activities including drawing board layout and interpretation / implementation of customer specifications and documentation requirements

+ Support project scheduling and estimating and manage own work to meet cost estimates and schedule

+ Support Investigations, solutions and write reports

+ Follow procedures to meet the requirements of ISO-9001

+ Support internal , customer and supplier meetings


Skills / Experience :
+ Substantial experience in Product design or system development and 3D CAD ( Solidworks or similar )

+ Experience across multiple sectors ( aerospace desirable )
+ Mechanisms and pneumatics an advantage
+ Full life cycle design
+ Mechanical Detailing. ( Some electrical knowledge an advantage )
