An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineering Manager to work within engineering management on various defence projects and products.

You will be a highly experienced engineering manager, accustomed with working on large and complex systems within the defence industry.

As a Project Engineering Manager your key accountabilities will include:

  • Day-to-day management of multi-disciplined Engineering teams, ensuring that roles and tasks are clearly defined and understood.

  • Setting of goals, appraisal of core staff and agreeing project specific training needs.

  • Liaise closely with System Design Authority to ensure technical integrity of programmes.

  • Establish and maintain good lines of communication across the Engineering IPT and upwards to the IPT lead

  • Management of the Engineering technical quality, schedule and budget.

  • Management of cost adherence to the programme budgets. Work Package cost management for project control and reporting.

  • Technical point of contact and liaison point for key customer organisations.

  • Technical interface and management of programme's contractors & sub-contractors.

  • Configure and maintain performance measures and matrixes for the area.

Project Engineering Manager - Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified or equivalent

  • Experience of engineering team management in a challenging environment

  • Good problem-solving ability

  • Good schedule and budget control.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, across multiple sites/locations

  • Strong leadership competency but also can demonstrate team-working skills.
