This role will support a key requirement of the ESN programme, to provide the necessary radio access network functionality obligations, agreed with the Home Office. This role is a project manager role that will help to put in place that ongoing capability and network performance.
Responsibilities of the Project Manager - ESN: -
The role holder will lead and have responsibility for gathering business requirements, determining/agreeing project scope, planning and managing all aspects of the delivery of medium to large-sized projects that will significantly affect the organisation at the ESN level in the first instance and later BU at operational level.
Will manage a highly complex project at the same time under the direction of a Programme Manager and will input into the management process as the leader of projects.
Likely to manage small to medium sized cross-discipline teams and will work closely with Technical Delivery Leads / external contractors / suppliers / consultants to ensure the delivery of all the E2E elements.
Demonstrable experience and capability in the delivery of projects requiring the creation of large project teams with multiple elements on a cross discipline and/or multi supplier basis.
Responsible for the delivery of the project within defined financial budget.
Understanding of concepts, procedures and application of project management and an extensive knowledge in subjects and disciplines relevant to the content of the project (e.g. risk management, resource planning, budget forecasting, requirement traceability and verification matrix). Brings this knowledge to bear to ensure reuse and best practice across projects.
Plans, manages and delivers the Transfer-To-Operation in collaboration with the BU
Interface with the Commercial team to ensure alignment and support to the sales strategy for the account
Evaluates complex situations using multiple sources of information. Solution will typically require some re-planning and resource elements, potentially generating bespoke adaptations during the execution phase of the project.
Will be involved in the interface with internal/external customers to understand customer needs, utilise experience of the company wide portfolio to meet a business requirement and/or proactively promote/drive positive business change
Requirements of the Project Manager - ESN: -
+ Experience of delivering and/or deploying 4G mobile radio access network software
+ Formal agreement and documentation of business requirements and project scope
+ Understands the link from Demand, User Experience to Solution and Component level and ensuring + they fit the business requirements
+ Provide business with ROM and firm estimate of project costs and effort
+ Drive business understanding of quotes, work effort, estimated timelines and obtain funding and agreement to proceed
+ Implementation of business and technical governance mechanisms including all project documentation, plans, deliverables, finance and RAID
+ Drive project within agreed cost, time and quality
+ Drive to acquire a high-level understanding/technical grasp on key platform technical areas in the specific delivery area
+ Drive all the required project components and platform, taking responsibility for delivery of e2e business capabilities
+ Drive for seamless implementation through strong collaboration with all Key Stakeholders
+ Formally close the project and all associated project governance and documentation
+ Ensure benefits realization meets the original business case for the project
