Quality Engineer

The Role

The role of Quality Engineer will be to develop, maintain, and implement a quality management system (QMS) and ensure adherence to relevant quality standards and protocols including ISO9001 and ISO14001 and ISO13485.

Key accountabilities:

• Lead the maintaining and implementation of QMS throughout the company.

• Maintaining QMS accreditation.

• Ensuring adherence to relevant quality standards such as ISO9001 and ISO14001 and ISO13485.

• Key contact for external complaints and assisting in quality investigations.

• Assist in driving a culture of quality throughout the business.

• Reporting on QMS and departments quality performance.

• Daily review processes on quality issues and performance.

• Create and control internal audits ensuring completion of audit schedule by audit team.

• Assist in leading external QMS audits at all sites.

• Work with suppliers to investigate root cause analysis and work with them to achieve permanent corrective actions.

• Support environmental auditing and reporting for the sites.

• Work alongside purchasing and production materials management teams in creating supplier performance reporting.

• Support continuous improvement initiative within company for the creation of new product lines and the improvement of existing product lines.

• Support teams in creation of SOPs and work instructions.

• Support in producing company literature (IFU - instructions for use etc.).

Working hours are 8am - 5pm however there is flexibility to accommodate the commute.

This role will be predominantly based in Rotherham with regular travel to Birmingham. Applicants must be willing to commute to both sites. Travel costs to and from Birmingham will be covered by the company.

What experience is required to apply?

• 5 years quality engineer and QMS experience in any highly regulated industry (essential)

• Knowledge of ISO9001 (essential)

• Experience in the medical field and/or knowledge of ISO13485 (desirable)

• Strong communication, customer service, team work and organisational skills (essential)
