A UK based Manufacturer that manufactures metal structures for the automotive industry are looking for a Quality Engineer to be a part of their growing Quality team and be an integral part of this team as you will be providing support for both internal and external customers.

My client is a well-respected UK based manufacturer that manufactures metal pressings, cab assemblies, fuel and hydraulic tanks and complex structures. They have 5 sites in around the UK and have started from bottom and now have over 600 employees and continue to grow rapidly. The role - Quality Engineer- Evenwood, Bishop Auckland
Assist in the in the development and implementation of quality management system procedures.
Communicating quality events with internal customers
Carry out operator training in relation to; method of inspection/standard operating procedures.
Liaise directly with customers and suppliers on quality related activities, including site visits where necessary.
Assist in the NPI process through developing PPAP documentation - control plans, PFMEA's, flowcharts and inspection reports, ensuring appropriate process validation is conducted.
Assist in the collection, analysis and communication of quality data to support improvement programmes.
Maintain quality database records.
Investigate and respond to customer concerns in a timely and accurate manner.
Assist in supporting customer audits and subsequent corrective actions.
Maintain measuring equipment calibration records in accordance with specified requirements.
Identify measuring equipment requirements
Support product quality/ continuous improvement / NPI/Customer initiated projects
Qualifications/skills - Quality Engineer- Evenwood, Bishop Auckland
Good oral and written communication
Interpreting technical drawings
Familiar with all types of conventional measuring equipment.
Customer focused
Understanding of problem solving methodologies
Flexible approach to meeting tight deadlines and changing priorities.
Information technology
Being thorough and professional
5 years engineering experience, preferably with a fabrication background.
Knowledge of 3D measurement (Arm/CMM)
