Sales and Marketing Manager
Would you like to work for a world leading aerospace and defence organisation as a f Sales and Marketing Manager is a key leadership role in securing order intake targets and identifying new business opportunities?
You will be a proactive member of the Sales and Marketing Team working with other Sales and Marketing Managers in assisting the Head of EW Sales and Marketing to ensure that the annual order intake budget is achieved.
You will work closely with the Head of the EW Strategic Business Area in respect of major business capture campaigns and the development of Business Segment strategy.
Maintaining regular contact with key customer groups in industry and the UK MoD including DE&S, JFC, DSTL and Army HQ and Law Enforcement & National Security (LENS) Agencies. Regular contact with other country's MoD's and LENS agencies will also be required.
Support Divisional Marketing (DM) and International Business Support on specifically agreed overseas sales opportunities including demonstrations.
Identifying and prioritising sales opportunities for EW and Force Protection ECM and maintaining an accurate account of prospects, campaign plans and POAPs
Leading the development of key prospect Capture Plans in line with the company Business Winning (BW) strategy and order intake budget.
You will lead submissions for Business Winning Decision Panels (BWDP) (interested, Can Win, Will Win and Submission reviews) supported by the nominated Bid Manager.
Working as part of a team to support the development of winning bids. A key element will involve communicating customer requirement to Integrated Project Teams (IPT), Integrated Campaign Teams (ICT) and Bid Teams so they can develop compelling and winning proposals.
Supporting the Strategy & Business Development function in market analysis and marketing campaigns.
Helping to promote the company capabilities and solutions to external customer groups and industry partners including the development of marketing material where necessary.
Representing the company at trade shows and exhibitions to promote the capabilities on offer.
Working with the Chief Technologist and Capability functions to support the development of technology/ product route maps and investment cases.
Skills and Qualifications:
It is important that the candidate has specialist EW domain knowledge together with a proven track record of success as a sales person in the Defence sector in the UK and/or overseas.
Ideally the candidate will be educated to Degree level or equivalent in the field of Engineering, Marketing or Sales.
Direct experience and knowledge of appropriate UK and Overseas Defence customers will be an advantage, DE&S, Army HQ and JFC are particularly relevant.
Must show strong leadership skills to motivate and lead campaign teams whilst also being a team player, prepared to take a fair share of the work as well as directing others.
Must be capable of communicating at multiple levels (both written and oral) across the internal business and the external customers. The ability to network and communicate well with external customers to understand their needs and intentions is key. Presentation and inter-personal skills are essential to this role including all forms of presentational media.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate a track record in sales including specific experience of campaign management and selling into the defence sector in the UK and overseas.
The candidate must be highly motivated and a 'self-starter' capable of working alone and managing their own time with limited input
