A genuinely exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced sales manager within the Building Management Systems industry to take on a newly created and pivotal role in a long standing and successful business operating in the the BMS controls market.

This is a management role with no personal billing target, rather, you will have the responsibility of working closely with the directors of the business and will be strategically leading an existing sales team to deliver on their targets, driving forward their sales functions across both Projects and Service, leading and growing the team through an ambitious growth plan over the next 5 years.

This is a very key role to the organisation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Achieve growth and exceed sales targets by successfully growing and managing the sales team.

  • Review existing processes and then create and refine a new formal, repeatable, successful, and scalable sales process.

  • Design and implement a strategic sales plan to both grow business in existing clients AND broaden the existing client base.

  • Build and promote the development of strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs.

  • Provide effective sales planning, setting sales goals, analysing data on past performance, and projecting future performance.

  • Develop your sales team through motivation, coaching and both sales and technical training.

  • Ensure that the sales department works collaboratively with other departments.

  • Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team.

  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status.

The person:

  • Significant experience as a Sales Manager.

  • Significant experience in managing a sales team of around 10+ reps.

  • Significant experience in Customer Relationship Management

  • A history of consistently exceeding targets.

  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.

  • Strong commercial awareness.

The successful candidate will ideally come directly from the BMS, BEMS, Building Controls industry, however candidates from related industry sectors who strongly meet the majority of the outlined experience and capabilities will also be considered.
