Senior Health and Safety Advisor
Location: West Sussex
£45,000 - £50,000
A technology company are looking for a Senior Health and Safety Advisor to support and promote Health and Safety across all Sites as the business continues to grow.
The role - Senior Health and Safety Advisor - West Sussex
Responsibilities:
Support the HSE Department in maintaining compliance with all relevant H&S legislation
Promoting a positive , open and honest health and safety culture , championing the company's values , principles and policies
Lead on accident investigations , ensuring root cause identification , analysis , and permanent corrective action implementation in a timely manner
Review and update risk assessments , policies and procedures as per HSE guidance
Conduct and lead ( in collaboration with others ) health and safety inspections and audits
Evaluate and advise on safe working practices across all departments
Support in leading the Company's Health & Safety Committee
Liaise with external regulatory bodies on behalf of the Company and ensure any actions are dealt with in a timely manner
Ensure compliance with specific reporting and record keeping requirements in relation to statutory and regulatory requirements
Monitor and report on health and safety performance across the business
Qualifications/skills - Senior Health and Safety Advisor - West Sussex
Required
Extensive experience in Health & Safety
NEBOSH or equivalent qualified
Good interpersonal and negotiation skills, with an ability to engage collaboratively with staff at all levels, role-models and champions company values and processes in all situations
Excellent stakeholder management, proactivity and accountability
Experience of working in an organisation with a strong , open and honest health and safety culture
Experience of risk assessing processes in a high-risk environment
Experience in Laboratory and Production hazards , associated controls and working practices including chemical , biological and radiation safety
Experience of Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmosphere Regulation ( DSEAR ), and The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health ( COSHH ) regulations.
Experience in planning and delivering organisational health , safety and environmental improvements
Competent IT skills including Microsoft Office
A driving licence is essential as the role is multi-site and travel to various locations is required, including Horsham and Redhill
Desired
Experience in implementing ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
NEBOSH Fire Risk assessment trained
Hold an Environmental qualification e.g. IEMA Cert
Membership of a professional H&S body
