Senior Health and Safety Advisor


£40,000 - £50,000 (Depending on experience)

Based in Horsham

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support the HSE Department in maintaining compliance with all relevant H&S legislation
  • Review and update risk assessments, policies and procedures as per HSE guidance
  • Conduct and lead (in collaboration with others) health and safety inspections and audits.
  • Evaluate and advise on safe working practices across all departments.
  • Ensure compliance with specific reporting and record keeping requirements in relation to statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and report on health and safety performance across the business

Knowledge, skills, and experience:


  • Extensive experience in Health & Safety
  • NEBOSH or equivalent qualified
  • Experience of working in an organisation with a strong, open and honest health and safety culture
  • Experience of risk assessing processes in a high-risk environment
  • Experience in Laboratory and Production hazards, associated controls and working practices including chemical, biological and radiation safety.
  • Experience of Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmosphere Regulation (DSEAR), and The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.
  • Competent IT skills including Microsoft Office.
