Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Up to £75,000 (dependent on experience)
Based in Farringdon
An exciting opportunity to join a growing, innovative engineering consultancy, implementing their unique technology with client products. This organisation is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their busy team based in Central London.
In this role you will be implementing revolutionary technology utilised across a number of industries, making it a truly cutting-edge R&D environment. You will benefit from utilising your technical design skills by adding strong commercial awareness, working closely with Senior Stakeholders, both internally and externally.
Areas of Responsibility:
Evaluate mechanical and pneumatic systems and products by designing and conducting research programs; applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, pneumatics, energy transfer, and materials.
High efficacy in developing and applying all standard mathematical tools and approaches used in a design process, including static and dynamic modelling
Utilize design tools (i.e. e.g. SolidWorks, PDM software, FEA software) with a focus on product design.
End to end design engineering, design concept, prototyping, testing, diagnosing, integration, installation, and application.
Can commission, manage, and interpret specialist design inputs from third-party experts such as FEA (static and dynamic), CFD
Develops products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials; soliciting observations from end users.
Experience/Skills Required:
Strong academic background i.e. relevant degree - PhD/MEng/BEng etc.
Full end-to-end design experience
Any previous experience working with high pressure, propulsion systems, valves or pneumatics would be highly beneficial
Excellent pedigree in Mechanical Design, including strong modelling, GD&T, FEA and DFM knowledge
Flexibility to travel overseas as and when required
