Role of Senior Modelling and Data Analysis Engineer

A market leading Technology, Engineering and Manufacturing business are seeking a Senior Modelling and Data Analysis Engineer

You will work as part of the Modelling and Data Analysis Team who focus on providing internal and external customers with access to , and interpretation of , high quality data relating to product performance . As part of a journey towards the further digitalisation of modelling and analysis techniques , the use of cloud-based storage and processing power provides further potential opportunities to use the data , along with increased processing capabilities and data-rich analysis techniques to create new insight from this data to better understand engineering processes and support development of further digital modelling capabilities

Responsibilities of Senior Modelling and Data Analysis Engineer

  • Development and maintenance of data analysis and reporting tool-sets for use with system engineering and product development activities

  • Support and development of automated processing algorithms to enable the definition and generation of consistent system performance metrics across the business.

  • Develop best-practice processes and tools for the analysis of engineering data , to ensure quality and consistency across the business.

  • Use and development of 0-D and 1-D thermo-fluids modelling of current and future systems along with the specification of test plans to validate model performance

  • Take a lead role in project teams , developing and delivering system modelling and data analysis to support high level project goals

  • Present simulation and analysis results in a clear and consistent manner to enable engagement with engineering data throughout the business

  • Support the roll-out of the developed tools to other parts of the organisation

Skills and knowledge required for Supply Chain Planning Manager

  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g. Engineering Science, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering etc) with 5+ years of industrial experience in a relevant engineering discipline

  • Experience of developing and using software and modelling tools working in a cross functional team , using best practice software engineering practices

  • Good understanding of programming in a high level language ( e.g. MATLAB/Simulink, Visual Basic, Python, Java, C/C++ ) and the associated software life cycle. Experience of Object-orientated programming within MATLAB would be advantageous but not essential

  • Experience of working with large structured data sets in a cloud-based environment ( Microsoft Azure Data Lake ) and knowledge of Azure Databricks tools would be beneficial but not essential

  • System development background and experience with good fundamental thermo-fluids knowledge and understanding

  • Willingness to adapt and tailor working practices to suit the demands of the business
