Would you like to play a key role in the supporting our finance function within a leading Aerospace company? We are a through-life business which delivers advanced military air capability both to our UK and many overseas customers.
As a Senior Project Accountant, you will be responsible for providing Project Accountant support to teams across the Europe and International portfolio. This will cover a variety of interesting contracts, ranging in size, complexity and value. You will be part of an Integrated Project Team, working alongside Commercial, Project Management and other functions including Operations and Procurement; therefore, your ability to work cross-functionally is vital.
This role will provide you with exciting large-scale projects that you will have the opportunity to work on. It will also give you growth to progress within the role and within the wider organisation. Your main responsibilities as a Senior Project Accountant will involve:
Driving the delivery of all internal and external targets (financial and non-financial) as required.
Engaging with line leaders, including cross functionally, with preparing Budgets, Forecasts and Business Plans that drives positive financial outcomes.
Working with the business in the quarterly contract review process including challenge of estimates and involvement in risk management process
Partnering with the business, across a range of functions, including Project Management and Commercial.
Reviewing and challenging financial information with the Project Team to facilitate decision making
Understanding our contractual deliverables and working to achieve positive outcomes.
Focusing on maintaining and improving E&I financial controls
Ensuring all financial procedures and controls are applied as required; and supporting non finance functions on their application.
Supporting the business with Internal and External Audit activity.
Proactively seeking to improve local processes and working practices to drive efficiencies across the team and wider business.
Your skills and qualifications:
Qualified in CIMA, ACA or ACCA
Experience driving business improvement
Previous work experience in a finance role
Ability to manage and influence a variety of stakeholders at all levels
Good interpersonal skills; Ability to reprioritise to meet key deadlines; Good communication skills; Ability to challenge; Proactive
Advanced Excel. Proficient in Word and PowerPoint
