Senior Project Planner

Location: Weymouth

Salary: £40,000 - £55,000

A global aerospace and defence organisation specialising in Maritime Submarines is looking for a Senior Project Planner to work across dynamic state of the art projects.

You will be working in collaboration with the Project Management team and leading other Project Planning & Control professionals in the creation, implementation and maintenance of accurate schedules and support documentation serving multiple submarine programmes.

Responsibilities - Senior Project Planner

  • Co-ordinating all Planning requirements under the guidance of Project Planning Controls Team.

  • Developing and maintaining coherent, fully integrated and workable programme structures and budgets, and implement lessons learned from previous projects.

  • Providing accurate programme schedules and cost data estimates in support of bids, annual budgets or cost to completion.

  • Monitoring, updating and generating reports on assigned projects or sub-projects using appropriate techniques, such as Earned Value.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers and stakeholders to meet their requirements.

  • Maintaining the documentation and configuration control of the data within the Project Programme and Project Control System.

  • Understanding of and applying the Quality and HS&E Management System documentation.

Skills and Qualifications - Senior Project Planner

  • Experience within a project management discipline.

  • Previous demonstrable experience in planning / project controls within a complex technical/engineering environment.

  • Excellent communications skills and the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.

  • Whilst not essential, experience in working with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project and SAP tools would be highly desirable.

  • Experience in the application of Earned Value Management.

  • Schedule Risk Analysis experience would also be desirable.
