With the belief all children and young people should have access to a wide range of activities and experiences, our client provides a number of residential care homes in Essex for children and young people who have Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) who are assessed to have profound and multiple needs in terms of their emotional, psychological and attachment development. Providing a specialist therapeutic Residential and Education care to children aged 8 to 17, they offer them a homely family environment where they can learn, thrive and grow.
If you'd like to support children and young people as a Senior Residential Support Worker and have experience of working with children who have Emotional & Behaviour Difficulties, then we'd love to hear from you.
Reporting to a Senior Residential Support Worker, the following experience is required:
Previous experience of working with children with learning difficulties or emotional & behavioural difficulties in a similar setting
Previous Senior Residential Worker experience, including shift leading in a similar setting
Experience of managing and supervising staff, including staff supervision on shift, regular formal supervision and staff appraisals
Confident in managing medication, including administration, ordering, monitoring and auditing
Overseeing care plans relating to young people in the home
Reporting, recording and managing incidents in the home
Previous experience of key working children
As a residential support worker, be able to demonstrate a high level of emotional resilience and be able to work with a pragmatic approach towards all levels of possible adversities and challenges the young people may inadvertently display
Previous experience in report writing and confidence in using a laptop or PC
You should also hold Level 3 in Health and Social Care with Children or equivalent qualification

As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will work 37.5 hours per week as a full-time employee or 22.5 hours part time. This will include a mixture of early shifts (07.45 - 15.15) or lates (14.45 - 10.15). we will discuss the rota pattern with you in detail over the phone.
The client is located near to public transport facilities for access from Essex and also central London.
