Senior/Principal Systems Engineer


Salary: £40,000 - £60,000

Location: Horsham

A world leader in Fuel Cell Technology is seeking a Senior/Principal Systems Engineer too enable the development power generation systems and electroyser systems.

Responsibilities - Senior/Principal Systems Engineer

  • Technical Leadership of projects and work packages, including leading a team of experienced engineers

  • Working with global partners to understand key drivers, requirements and specifications for Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Systems and Solid Oxide Electrolyser Systems

  • Development of system architectures to meet customer product requirements

  • Designing models, identifying trade-offs and conducting simulations and analysis of systems and components

  • Produce system functional and conceptual architectures

  • Produce component design and specification documentation

  • Work with designers and suppliers acting as a technical contact

  • Conduct 'hands on' verification and validation programs as required

  • Manage and communicate project risk

  • Overseeing verification and validation programs

  • Writing test plans, reports and presenting work to internal and external customers

  • Specifying test plans and analysing test data

  • Writing reports and presenting work to internal and external customers

  • Manage IP by tracking IP space, creating new IP and supporting patent process

  • Own the technical content of the design review packs

Skills and Qualifications - Senior/Principal Systems Engineer

  • BSc/MSc or BEng/MEng in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or similar

  • Systems background and experience

  • Experience working with SOEC and SOFC desirable

  • Fundamental thermo-fluids knowledge and understanding

  • Fundamental chemical reaction knowledge and understanding

  • Process flow modelling

  • Electrical power

  • Multi input, output control

  • Experience in developing designs, testing, verification and validation.

  • Interpretation of test results, with understanding of measurement techniques, data acquisition and analysis.
