A global aerospace and defence organisation specialising in current and future state-of-the-art airborne electronic systems utilised onboard fighter aircraft are seeking a Senior Software Engineer.

You will be involved with novel product development and emerging technologies that have been supported by a £200m annual investment in research and development.

Key Responsibilities - Senior Software Engineer (Real Time Embedded)

  • Apply your software skills to create the next generation of advanced, integrated airborne sensor systems.

  • Work across the software engineering lifecycle implementing real time embedded software.

  • Contribute towards the investigation and analysis of leading-edge development methodologies and influence the future path of software development within Leonardo.

Skills and Qualifications - Senior Software Engineer (Real Time Embedded)

  • Developing and debugging software in a real-time embedded environment with a good understanding of different software development methodologies, tools and compilers.

  • Understanding and application of software design methodologies and best practice including Object Orientated, SOLID design principles and use of recognised design patterns.

  • Demonstrable experience and success within your previous roles, including taking responsibility for remaining up to date with relevant technology.

  • Strong knowledge of the software engineering lifecycle including awareness of the latest continuous integration and continuous delivery techniques.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
