Service Design Manager
Location: Salisbury (Mostly remote)
Salary: £65,000-£70,000 + £5,400 car allowance
Clearance: You will be put through SC clearance
Remote working: Occasional visits to site (1/2 days per month)
Role Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of team delivering 'enabling' services to a large Public Sector customer. The environment is complex and the scope for learning is only limited by your own ambition and willingness to learn new skills. As a Service Designer you will be creating services across a diverse portfolio of technical change, considering supportability, service and end user needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with solution leads to enforce the need to consider solutions as services not technology and ensure that Service considerations have been factored into all of the solution's architecture
- Work with project teams ensuring that Service considerations have been factored into the project plan and costings
- Assess elements of the solution that influence supportability, maintenance and enduring Service
- Work across multiple work-streams within the portfolio identifying conflict, duplication and dependencies
- Support Service Transition to ensure a smooth and informed introduction into Service
- Identify and assist with establishing Service assets and operational collateral required for operational readiness
- Have a technical background and the ability to question decisions and approaches
- Have an understanding of Government Security Classifications and hold a minimum of SC Clearance Required
Skills:
- Strong current experience within Service design
- Acting as a bridge between Non-technical stakeholders and technical teams alike.
- Have knowledge and an appreciation of a variety of Service Management Frameworks and delivery approaches, for example: ITIL,
- Have the ability to create Service Design Collateral; Service Design Documents, Service Support Models etc.
- Be able to determine the influencing factors for service activities and their impact to existing services
- Identify the need for a for new service provision and assist in drafting a description of the new service
- Utilise an existing cost model to identify the impact to delivered service charges
- Have knowledge of at least the following Technologies from a service design perspective: ITSM Tooling, Virtualisation, Private Cloud Infrastructure, Virtual Desktop
- Infrastructure/Thin Client, Microsoft Windows Client and Server, Software Defined Datacentre
