Service Technical Lead (Applications)

We are a leading Global Engineering & Technology company and currently have a vacancy for a Applications Technical Lead at our sites in Farnborough or Preston.

This role will work within Enterprise IT Services and will gain a complete technical and architectural understanding of a set of software applications. You'll be used as a point of escalation within the team for technical issues and service improvements as well as taking technical responsibility of these product in-service.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Assist with technical issue resolution and resolve underpinning problems

  • Proactively carry out process improvements and anticipate future actions to create an efficient set of services

  • Follow company processes for project, demand and change management

  • Keep aligned with Architectural colleagues to understand the technical roadmap for each product

  • Maintain the technical documentation repository of Product Team processes

  • Work with other teams to resolve service queries

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

  • Proven experience managing technical changes across several applications

  • Experience managing internal stakeholders and communicating key messages clearly

  • Strong analytical and troubleshoot experience across different platforms

  • High level of attention to detail to follow set internal processes

  • Ability to work independently to identify and implement improvements

  • Experience with Waterfall and Agile software development processes

  • Good knowledge of a broad set of technologies and languages, included SQL, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, XML/XSLT, Windows/Linux server administration, web services, application plug-ins, Active Directory and REST API

  • Awareness of SharePoint is advantageous but not essential
