Skype Engineer

Skype Engineer

Outside IR35

10 month initial contract

Based in Corsham

Hybrid role (2 days a week on-site)

£450 - £500 per day DOE

*Please note this role requires SC Clearance


Overview

The Skype Engineer will be experienced in the delivery of Skype and will be responsible for:

  • Installation, configuration, maintenance, administration, and support of Skype services

  • Production and review of all levels of design artefacts.

  • Supporting wider NSoIT(D) system testing activities.

  • Working with Service Management to resolve issues.


Essential skills, qualifications, and experience

In order to deliver this service, it is essential that individuals have at significant experience of the following:

  • Installation, configuration, maintenance, administration, and support of Microsoft Skype for business in a defence environment

  • Knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure focussing on IP Technology technologies from major vendors on Cisco Unified Communications and Microsoft Skype for Business (certification ideal)

  • Excellent knowledge of Unified Communications environments with a focus on mobility and ability to integrated with existing environment

  • Knowledge of dependent IP telephony devices e.g. SBAs and SBCs

  • Active Directory and Windows Server knowledge

  • DNS, DHCP, load balancer, firewall and TCPIP port knowledge

  • NATO voice systems

  • Working in an Agile delivery model and working in a fast moving, developing environment with operational priorities.

  • Experience with Skype implementations that conforms to both JSP and NATO STANAG standards.

  • Experience working with NATO to deliver NATO NS voice and video (if required) services

  • Have excellent communication skills with diverse and adverse audiences

  • Have excellent critical thinking and analytical skills.

  • Hold a current SC clearance and be prepared to undergo DV clearance.

  • Competent in MS Office Suite.

  • Working within the public sector, preferably Defence, and ideally with Defence Digital (formerly ISS).
